Trouble Andrew Tour To Include Olympics Performance
. The two-time Olympian and Burton-sponsored pro snowboarder (aka Trevor Andrew) will play songs from his 2009 10-song debut CD Trouble Andrew, as well as new material from his forthcoming second full-length CD. Trouble Andrew's live performances have been garnering raves, one critic noting: "Whether rapping or singing, he enthralled the audience, even writhing around the floor like he was Iggy (synth-) Pop." The musician cites influences such as Bad Brains, Ice Cube, Black Flag, Descendents, Minor Threat, the Beastie Boys and Three Six Mafia, noting: "Punk rock, hip hop, sk8, snowboard, and surf cultures have a lot in common. They came about naturally and from the underground. That freedom of nonconformity is what ties them together. I wanted it all represented in my music." Trouble turned seriously to making music during a long period of recuperation from a snowboarding injury: "Making music definitely saved my life," he says. "I could've gotten depressed over my injury, but instead I was so excited to make music and discover new sounds. The as yet untitled Trouble Andrew CD will be out in Spring 2010. Leading up to his Olympian gig on February 21st, Trouble Andrew launches a tour beginning January 21st in Modesto. Below are all confirmed dates. January Preview and Purchase Trouble Andrew CDs |
