Ken Will Morton Sets New Album Release
. "True Grit" features twelve original songs by Morton. It was recorded at The Madhouse in Queens, NY, and produced by Mark Ambrosino, a renowned percussionist (Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Trans Siberian Orchestra) ), producer (Danny Kalb, Theo Eastwind) and a co-owner of Sojourn Records. Guest players include: Dave Richards on bass (Indigo Girls, Jane Kelly Williams); Dave Morgan on keyboards (Wynton Marsalis, Peter Himmelman); Tom Laverack on guitars and piano; and Ambrosino on drums, percussion and vocals. The CD was mastered at Gateway Mastering in Portland, ME. Morton is an accomplished artist with six releases under his belt. His songwriting and unique voice has been heralded by No Depression, Harp, Paste Magazine, An Honest Tune, American Songwriter, Southeast Performer, Performing Songwriter, Relix, Blues Matters, Vintage Guitar, Georgia Music Magazine and more. In April of 2008, his song �Oh Lord� was prominently featured in the TV show The Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel. Ambrosino, who discovered Morton in 2008 at the Americana Music Conference, comments: �Ken is the real deal. I knew it from the first moment I heard him. He feels it, he's lived it, and he's doing it. He is one of those special artists who, when I hear him, I don't get the feeling that he's performing. I feel like I'm witnessing it pour out of him.� Morton is also an extremely engaging performer, nominated twice for �Best Solo Performer� by Flagpole Magazine. He has toured most parts of the U.S., opening for Edwin McCain, Dick Dale, Tommy Stinson, Sugarland, & more. He has toured Ireland, performed at South-by-Southwest, the Americana Music Festival, Atlantis Music Conference, and more. Morton will continue touring in support of "True Grit."
