. Charlatans Star Has Brain Tumor was a top story in September. Here it is again as we recap 2010: (Gibson) As previously reported, Charlatans drummer Jon Brookes collapsed on stage in Philadelphia last week. The band subsequently cancelled the remainder of their U.S. tour so that Brookes could return to the U.K. for treatment. Now, it has been revealed that Brookes has been diagnosed as having a brain tumor.

The band has released the following statement: "The Charlatans' drummer, Jon Brookes, is currently undergoing treatment in the U.K. for a brain tumor following the postponement of the remaining dates of [The] Charlatans' North American tour.

"The Charlatans' touring schedule remains unaltered whilst the band arrange for a short-term replacement. The band and Jon would like to thank all well-wishers for their kind messages of support." - more on this story
