Singled Out: Far's Deafening
. Shaun sent me a bunch of ideas to write vocals for. This one riff he had labeled 'Beauty' kept coming back into my head. I actually wrote a really silly dance lyric for it at first, just to get it out of my system. Then, while I was trying to figure something else out, I had a conversation with a friend. He's a really sweet guy, but his rhetoric sounded so cruel underneath the calm, pseudo-logical presentation. It just got me thinking about the curse of privilege, and how oddly entitled and selfish we've become, under this illusory banner of 'personal freedom'. Seems to me that in the vain search for truth, purity and headlines, we're losing sight of simple common sense, let alone compassion Hearing is believing.
