(antiMusic) Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today we have a very special singled out where Lynyrd Skynyrd members Gary Rossington, Johnny Van Zant, and Rickey Medlocke tell us about "Still Unbroken" the first single from their brand new album "God & Guns," which hits stores on September 29th (you can preorder the album at the buy link below, and get this song right now at iTunes). We now turn it over to Lynyrd Skynyrd for the story:

Johnny Van Zant (vocals): We wrote that before Vicious Cycle. Gary always keeps a cassette of stuff, he brought it in while we were in the studio, said "ya'll need to listen to this, man; we can do something with this."

Gary Rossington (guitar): It's kind of about us and me, and what we've been through and done. Anybody can relate to it that's been through a lot and had a life go on. A lot of stuff happens. We need to find 20 more of those laying around.

Rickey Medlocke (guitar): That song actually was written quite a few years ago, right after Leon passed away. What ended up happening was we listened to the song again and it was so appropriate for us today.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album - right here!
