The group joins the trek on November 15th in Philadelphia at Theatre of Living Arts and continues through December (see itinerary below). The Flint, MI-based band is currently on tour with labelmates Paramore.
The Swellers were featured as a Buzzworthy artist on MTV.com, which stated that "they adept at Tearing. It. Up. For an up-and-coming band they've got a lived-in, robust, buzzsaw sound that will surely fill up all the space at the larger venues Paramore are about to play."
The Swellers, known for their merging of melodic hooks and hard-edged punk power, recently released their Fueled By Ramen debut album entitled "UPS AND DOWNSIZING." In true punk tradition, the album is the outraged cry of a band that has seen its world on the precipice. The album's title song, and much of the album, was inspired by what has been happening in Michigan long before the recession hit the rest of the countrydwindling jobs, people moving out of state, a bleak futureand how it hit founding band members Nick and Jonathan Diener at home. Their father was laid off from an automotive-related job, forcing he and the brothers' mother to relocate to North Carolina.
