Seattle's King5 News shows that instead of reciting stereotypical rap tales of drug sales steeped in profanity and misogyny, D.Black presents an album that is profanity-free and spiritual. This was not always the case, as D.Black used to rhyme about these aforementioned topics early in his career. Following the birth of his daughter and his spiritual enlightenment, D.Black experienced a revelation to incorporate more positive messages into his art.
Those messages are sprinkled throughout his new release Ali'Yah, the title of which alludes directly to the emcee's heightened inspiration and musical journey. Equipped with the support of his family, D.Black's new approach to music is being welcomed by the mainstream media. D.Black's new album, Ali'Yah, is available now via Sportn' Life Records/MYX Music Label. - King5 News Segment
