They are also set to make their U.S. network television debut, performing their first single "Too Fake" on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Oct. 15th and will play NYC's Mercury Lounge on Oct. 22nd as part of the 2009 CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival.
"We've been on the road non-stop since January leading up the release of our album and loving every minute of it," said frontman Ben Grubin. "We're excited to be back for a full tour in clubs."
The last nine months have been busy for foursome as they've spent a majority of their time touring throughout Europe taking breaks to come home for the major U.S. summer festivals. Spin.com named their Sasquatch performance 1 of the best moments of the festival and they received similar praise after playing at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. They have toured the U.K. with both Passion Pit and Friendly Fiers before embarking on their first UK headline tour which just wrapped in Brighton. They have also played nearly every major European festival including Glastonbury, Hove, Peace and Love, Eurockenees, Solidays, Oxegen, T In The Park and Gurtenfestival, Leeds and Reading. They have also performed on major UK television shows "Later With Jools Holland" and "Live From Abbey Road," and recently nominated for their first major award in the Best Push Artist category for the 2009 MTV European Video Music Awards. Their latest video, a clip for the single "Song Away" featuring Charlyne Yi and Paul Rust is being offered as a free download as iTunes video of the week.
Formed in Los Angeles five years ago by founders Ben Grubin, lead singer, and Jeremy "Jerm" Reynolds on bass, HOCKEY is now based in Portland, Oregon as a quartet with Brian White on guitar, and Anthony Stassi on drums. MIND CHAOS was released independently, and the group signed to Capitol late in 2008. The album has been remixed and remastered, with new songs added, for the Capitol Records release.
