Zoroaster, the Atlanta-based group who has been called "one of the U.S.'s most promising metal bands" while drawing stark comparisons to Godflesh, Sleep and the Melvins, formed in Atlanta, GA in 2003 out of the need for "sedation by high volumes and low frequencies". Zoroaster has met to shining praise from metal and indie rock press alike, receiving shining accolades for its deafening power, intriguing mysticism, use of left-of-center instrumentation (which has included Moog synths, theremins, ominous vocal choirs and even brass sections) and unique take on heavy music. Zoroaster's live show has been described as "an obliteration of the senses," earning the three piece the title of "Atlanta's loudest band."
"The first time I saw Zoroaster live, I was blown away and knew we had to add them to the growing E1 roster," comments E1 Music VP of Metal Scott Givens. "They push the limits of the metal genre with their music and are unlike any other act out there now. We are honored to be their partners." The signing of Zoroaster comes on the heels of E1 inking the like-minded High on Fire and sees the band join a first rate family of artists that includes such revered names as Satyricon, In Flames and Hatebreed.
Zoroaster is currently touring alongside Gojira, teaming with the French band for two weeks of live dates during its fall run supporting Metallica and Lamb of God. Immediately following the U.S. dates with Gojira, Zoroaster will launch a 3 week-long European tour alongside experimental black metal band Absu. Presented by Metal Hammer, Legacy and Metal.de, the tour Zoroaster's first ever European live trek is slated to launch on October 16 in Darmstadt, Germany and will run through November 7 in Rotterdam, Holland.
