In addition to the original album music, 'Coconut Rock Deluxe' includes a new electro funk version entitled "Electric Cockroach," a honey dipped hip-hop rhythm remix of "Vendendo Saude e Fe" by Adrian Quesada himself, a swinging reggae remix of "Cara de Yo No Fui" by label mates Ancient Astronauts, and other remix exclusives by DJ Obah and Grant Phabeo.
In the original album, musician / producers Martin Perna and Adrian Quesada step out from the shadows of their big bands; the legendary Antibalas and the Grammy nominated Grupo Fantasma, to lead us on another journey deeper into their trademark tropical psychedelic sound.
On their third full-length the grit and funk of the gridlocked NYC streets intersect seamlessly with the voices and rhythms of Latin American lanes. Afro-beat, early hip-hop, and light Disco rhythms get drenched in the cosmic grooves of the Perna and Quesada collaboration, creating a multi-genre masterpiece.
On December 8th rediscover Ocote Soul Sounds' 'Coconut Rock', this time with exclusive new material!
