'Johnny Cash Remixed' is also available as a limited edition CD/DVD package, including a documentary DVD about the making of the album. This footage features interviews with the re-mixers, filmed direct from their home studios, and sees Snoop Dogg recording vocals at the Cash Recording Cabin in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Executive produced by Snoop Dogg, Cash's son John Carter Cash, and Mathew Knowles, the album carries the blessing of the custodians of Johnny Cash's incredible legacy. The original recordings came licensed from the legendary Sun Records; the same label that gave us such luminaries as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison. The songs were recorded between 1956-1959 with Cash's first band the Tennessee Two, featuring guitar, light percussion and Cash's unmistakable vocals.
