(PR) Bill Champlin will launch the "BICHIN" West Coast tour on November 6th at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA. The tour is in support of Champlin's upcoming record, No Place Left to Fall, which marks his first solo album in over 10 years. It will be released on August 4th by indie label DreamMakers Music and has already been serviced to radio.

A founding member of the legendary San Francisco band Sons of Champlin and a singer-songwriter with six critically acclaimed solo albums to his credit, Champlin relishes the opportunity to return to his old stomping grounds on this tour.

"A few years ago, I was signing a stack of press photos and going through them at such a clip, I was using only two letters from each name - and I realized that I was signing 'BICH,'" recalls Champlin. "I'm really looking forward to spending some time with fans and hearing what they think of the new music. And I'll be BICHIN whatever they want me to on this tour!"

Champlin will be backed by the rhythm section from Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns - Jerry Lopez (guitar and vocals), Jaimie Hosmer (keys and vocals), Rochon Westmoreland (bass and vocals) and Eddie Garcia (drums) - and his wife, Tamara Champlin on vocals. (Tamara co-wrote the album's title song with Bill and Michael Caruso and she can be heard on several tracks.)

With No Place Left to Fall, Champlin has made the album he was born to make, a career-defining record with an honesty and immediacy that is refreshing - from the funky "Total Control" and soulful "Lookin' For You" to the exquisite "Never Been Afraid" and the kick-ass come-on "Angelina." It was recorded at The Barber Shop Studios in Hopatcong, NJ and produced by Champlin and Mark Eddinger, who also contributed on keyboards. Fans who purchase the physical CD will receive a 70-minute bonus DVD with a documentary on the making of the album directed by news anchor and longtime fan Rod Simons and lots of other cool extras, including live footage of Champlin performing recently with the Sons of Champlin.

"Age has done nothing to diminish his powers, and in fact, brings nuances to the material that a young cat just can't muster," noted Dennis Cook in Jambase and Relix Magazine.
