The EP features remixes from Ocelot, Wallpaper and The Paronomasiac (Nik of Shout Out Out Out Out), in addition to the original track and music video for "Safe For The TIme Being" from 2008's, Olly Oxen Free. A higher-quality version of the EP will be modestly priced and available via iTunes.
The mid-westerners are making their inaugural trip west with five shows up the coast supporting Stellastarr* and Wild Light. Don't miss incredible live versions of tracks off their sophomore release.
About the remixes: Wallpaper was recently featured on Pitchfork's 'Best New Music' for his remix of Das Racist's "Combination Pizza Hut And Taco Bell". From Wallpaper producer, Eric Frederic: "This was one of the hardest remix challenges I've faced. "Safe For The Time Being" is a dark rock track with an ominous lyrical narrative. I didn't want to do some run of the mill electro I-didn't-even-listen-to-the-song-or-lyrics remix. What I tried to do was rewrite the ending of Jonathan's story by turning the original harmony on its head and going all major-key-Ibiza-ass-pound on the outtro. Welcome to my first stab at house music."
The Paronomasiac is Nik 7 of Shout Out Out Out Out's solo effort. He also remixed for Solid Gold and Moby.
Ocelot has done remixes for The Killers, Royksopp and Robyn, and has put releases out via Wall of Sound and IHEARTCOMIX.
