With a career spanning 20 years, ten albums, and international tours with bands such as KISS, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, INXS, Soundgarden and Velvet Revolver, you can be sure The Screaming Jets will bring an amazing live show to the Sunset Strip. Categorized with a handful of internationally known bands that call Australia home like AC/DC and INXS, The Screaming Jets have had great success in the US market in the past and are excited about their long-awaited return.
"We can't wait to get out there and hopefully inspire people to come and see us, get people talking and hopefully get an album deal, and go the whole hog," says singer Dave Gleeson. "With the support of our new indie label, StockXChange Music, US producer/engineer Stevie Salas (Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, & American Idol's David Cook, Chris Daughtry, Jordin Sparks) and percussionist Matt Sorum (The Cult, Guns n Roses, Velvet Revolver) who we worked with on our latest album, we are hoping the band gets the recognition we think we deserve. If all goes well with our US return, we hope to tour there this summer."
As Do Ya hit stores in Australia in October 2008, and the first single of the same name smashed the airwaves, fans and music-lovers newto The Jets rockin' style were in for a real treat. The band teamed up with nationally-acclaimed producer/engineer Stevie Salas, along with Grammy-nominated and Juno Award winning producer/engineer Brandon Friesen to give the album its finishing touches.
"When I heard The Screaming Jets new rough tracks I heard honest rock muscle that reminded me of early AC/DC and Guns n Roses. How could I say no to that," said Salas.
In addition, this seventh studio album features special guest Matt Sorum (The Cult, Guns n Roses, Velvet Revolver) on percussion. With these three award winners' contribution to the release of this watershed album by Australia's hardest working rock band, The Jets' new album is certainly turning some heads.
Whether they are in a dusty pub in regional Australia, or a stadium in L.A, the smoke will still be rising off the bitumen long after The Jets truck has rolled on. They are survivors in an industry that eats it's own, and despite it all they are committed to their fans in a manner few could hold a candle too. The full bore, amps at eleven, kick ass rock that is the Sunset Strip is coming Feb. 3 at Key Club for an evening not to be missed.
