Yokota has been releasing music since 1992, originally recording music with a more techno inspired feel, as time passed he's developed a more ambient/abstract sound. This experimentation has been championed by Brian Eno, Philip Glass and Thom Yorke among others.
Over a decade later, Yokota continues to push his music in new directions with Mother, enlisting a variety of vocalists, including Caroline Ross, Rothko, Caspe Clausen (Efterklang), The Chap, Nancy Elizabeth and Anna Bronsted (Our Broken Garden) to help create one of his most versatile records to date. Yokota explains, "I asked artists who I respect to collaborate with me to widen my own expression." - Download "Tree Surgeon" here
