The UK is no doubt going to be experiencing a great live band. The Orange County Register (don't hold this against the band) wrote in a recent review of the group's show with the Fratellis (part of their current tour): "the real excitement this night came from a first encounter with opening act the Airborne Toxic Event, a striking quintet from the Los Feliz area that has been racking up next-big-thing talk from Rolling Stone and the L.A. press all year." [OC Register and Rolling Stone? Ouch! Where is the third strike going to come from? At least PitchDork didn't praise them.]
The Airborne Toxic Event have enormous grassroots support. The band's first single "Sometime Around Midnight" underwent the rarest of occurrences when it was added to rotation at KROQ and Indie 103.1 prior to having a record label or a manager. - more on this story
