Steeped in reverb-soaked guitars, lilting melodies and pensive percussion, the unique musical collaboration of Interpol's Sam Fogarino and Swervedriver's Adam Franklin, is a spiraling mix of an album that sees both veteran musicians entering musical territory not explored in their previous projects.
Recorded in the sweltering month of August at Normal Studios in Athens, Ga., the record, produced by Andy LeMaster (Bright Eyes, Azure Ray) is the fully realized 10-track follow-up to the band's self-titled EP, released earlier this year. Rounded out by The Album Leaf's Jimmy LaVelle on keys, The Still Out's Josh Stoddard on bass and Interpol touring member F.A. Blasco on guitar, the band is a true songwriting partnership for Franklin and Fogarino. "Magnetic Morning's debut A.M. is another surround-sound notch in [Franklin's] underrated belt, as he and Fogarino trade tropes, riffs and ideas all the way to cloud nine," exclaimed Wired.com. "It's the perfect daydream release."
