Save Your Breath: I was tired of meeting with people in the music business -- managers, lawyers, label people -- none of whom seemed at all interested in working with our band. I finally realized that none of this was even important to me, and that I had completely lost sight of what really mattered: playing music that I liked with friends that I loved. I decided I no longer needed anyone's approval, and I wrote this song.
I then proceeded to disregard everything I wrote and signed a record deal. I stand by every word in the song, and it means more to me now than the day I wrote it. It was Matt Wallace's idea to add a bridge to the song, and I'm glad we listened. I like this one a lot.
