A delicate mix of string-ridden tracks that reflect a meditation on life and music, Turner releases his debut CD, Clear Blue, in the U.S. on October 21, 2008, through his own independent record label, White Lotus Records.
Backpacking around the world, Paul found inspiration to learn the guitar upon hearing the instrumental piece of Mason William's "Classical Gas" during his stay in a San Francisco hostel. Returning to Australia, he picked up the yellow pages, found a guitar teacher near his home in Bondi Beach and started a love affair with his guitar. After conquering the piece that first inspired him, his new-found passion led him to find his own song writing style: rootsy folk, driven by intricate, droning guitar tracks and brought to life by soulful vocals.
Following in the musical paths trod by Neil Young and Cat Stevens, Turner has shared the stage in both the U.S. and Australia with acts ranging from Midnight Oil to The Portland Cello Project, receiving AAA radio airplay on stations spanning both continents.
