Passed Your Place, Saw Your Car, Thought of You: this song came to me really quick lyrically, and then I had no idea how to record it. I still hate the recorded version, but it's because I never know for sure how to do a song like this.
It is a very vulnerable lyric and I don't know sometimes how to let that show through without just doing the stick-a-mic-in-front-of-me-and-a-guitar and just sing it. I know a lot of people like when I only do that, but I gotta tell ya, I can't stand to hear a whole record of that. I do like it on the Rhodes piano though. And the drum machine is just a s***ty Casio sampling keyboard with built in speakers. It is set to the "rock ballad" drum beat. Go figure.
