Lion The Girl proved Midnight Movies owned their own brand of "psychedelic pop," lead by Olivier's crystalline voice, both chilling and mysterious, coasting over a sprawling wall-of-sound. On this 6-song EP, the quartet revisits two LP tracks, re-mixed and dance-floor ready, and adds live favorites. Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeah's) reworked "Souvenirs," bringing a punky-electro urgency that effectively juxtaposes front woman Gena Olivier's bewitching vocals. Meanwhile James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins) injected "Patient Eye" with steady drumbeats and breaks, propelling the originally steady song into a frenzy.
