Perry Danos, who hails from Chicago, where an array of sounds echo through the streets of the City (from Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country and the Symphony), is an accomplished, versatile, live performer who is set to make his national debut with Swingin' On The Moon not based on corporate directive, but out of sheer personal, artistic preference.
Swingin' On The Moon has a little bit of everything from Perry Danos. The CD resonates overtones from his mentors, Sam Cooke, Patsy Cline, Elvis, Rod Stewart, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin and the Beatles, and is enveloped in a "whole room of sound" made up of big band brass and symphony strings. The Nashville recording project features twelve all-time favorite American standards including: "Swingin' on the Moon" (Mel Torme), "The Long and Winding Road" (The Beatles--Lennon/McCartney), "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (Harold Arlen/E. Y. Harburg), "Snap Your Fingers" (Grady Martin/Alex Zanetis), "Lately" (Stevie Wonder/Johanan Vigoda) and "You Send Me" (Sam Cooke). - more on this story
