The band was formed in November 2001 as a side-project of good friends who at the same time were the members of other Polish metal bands such as Thy Disease, Decapitated, Crionics, Sceptic, Virgin Snatch, Serpentia, Death Sea. Their intention was to create a band that would pay tribute to their favorite bands, such as Cannibal Corpse and Cryptopsy. And apparently they did succeed. What is significant about Anal Stench is the fact that they make use of two vocalists. Their compositions are arranged for two vocals. Their first compositions met with positive feedback from metal lovers on the local scene in their hometown Cracow. In the early March 2002 Anal Stench entered a popular recording studio Jaro Home Studio and recorded a 5-track demo entitled "Koprof*g 997". The demo was sent to the biggest metal music labels in Poland and received a very enthusiastic feedback. In October 2002 Anal Stench decided to sign a contract with Metal Mind Productions. Soon after that, the band entered the recording studio again and started to work on their full length debut album. The involvement of the producer Jarek Baran (known also as a guitarist of Delight) and the huge potential of the band resulted in recording a very heavy material with perfect compositions in the vein of American death metal. The debut album entitled "Stench Like Six Demons" was received very well, both by the media and the public. As a part of the album's promotion, the band performed at Metalmania Festival 2003, the biggest metal festival in Eastern-Central Europe, and also supported Canibbal Corpse during their show in Katowice.
