"Spellbinder" and "Fortune's a Mistress" are influenced by Tim Powers book "Last Call." In a nutshell, his book is about immortals playing cards for souls. To do so they appear in modern day Nevada and play poker with tarot cards. The songs aren't directly about the book, but draw inspiration. The halls of power intersect in weird places.
The EP is available on iTunes right now and will be released in CD form next week. It seriously kicks major ass. For now you can check out clips of the songs and get more info on the band - right here.
