Jody Raffoul is not your average artist. Not only has he shared the stage with all of these aforementioned acts, JODY was also the National winner of Bon Jovi's 2006 "Have a Nice Gig" contest, in which he was hand-picked and announced personally by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora.
Jody went on to open a sold out show at Giant's Stadium in Bon Jovi's home state of New Jersey. Big Sky which is Jody Raffoul's first national U.S. album release, via Fontana/Universal on September 16 - is poised to be his big breakthrough.
Originally hailing from a small town in Southern Ontario, Canada, RAFFOUL relocated to Detroit, Michigan where he perfected an equal parts roots rock and pop sound that easily appeals to fans of both musical styles. JODY is a confirmed road dog, averaging over 200 shows per year. Previous albums include 2000's Simple Life and 2004's Like A Star; which have sold collectively in excess of 25,000 from live show sales alone and has set the stage for BIG SKY's U.S. album release. BIG SKY is over an hour long, loaded with melodic and memorable tunes, including the album's leadoff single, "Stay (with me)," a track which combines an infectious beat with lyrics that deal with newfound love, the beautiful ballad "Little Black Car," and the rhythmic album opener, "Chasing Paper."
JODY RAFFOUL's profile is increasing rapidly. He will be the featured "Artist On The Rise" for the month of September on Windows Media.com. The Ecast Network providing digital music to over 10,000 bars and nightclubs across the country will also be supporting JODY nationwide. Fans will get their first listen of BIG SKY when the album is added as a "Featured Pre-Release" to the Network starting August 20th.
The new video for "Stay (with me)" features a special guest appearance from drummer Ryan Hoyle of Collective Soul and was produced/directed/edited by Robin Davey (Buckcherry, Drowning Pool, The Bastard Fairies, The Canary Effect).
