Hosted by Jon Stewart, this star packed special will be televised LIVE from The Beacon Theatre in New York City on Sunday, April 13th at 8:00PM EST. The band then heads back to Philadelphia to appear on The Colbert Report on April 15th as he covers the Pennsylvania primaries. On April 28th, The Roots hit The Late Show with David Letterman to perform "Rising Up."
The Roots will be touring non-stop this year including dates supporting Erykah Badu and a headline appearance at America's largest Earth Day celebration- the Green Apple Festival 2008- at the National Mall in Washington, DC. The band will be joined by friends Chrisette Michelle, Will.i.am, Doug E. Fresh and Neyo. Additional festivals include All Points West, Summerfest and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
