We used to have wait a week to see how new releases are selling but no more with SoundScan's recent launch of "Building Charts" which charts sales from some of the leading retailers. Billboard.com says that "The Building Charts offer an indication of how races shape up each week for SoundScan's final charts, which post projected national sales each Wednesday morning, extrapolated from a panel of merchants that represents more than 90% of the U.S. music market."
So how did each one do on the first day? Kanye logged 437,000 sales for his new one "Graduation," and Fiddy's "Curtis" sold 310,000 copies. If the trend continues West will easily top the Billboard chart next week.
