"Hello everyone, We wanted to let you know that I have chosen to leave Yellowcard and pursue other endeavors. It has been an honor creating music together and I want to wish them the very best in everything they put their hands to. its been a blessing to have been able to travel the world and perform music. I would like to thank everyone who has supported us through all these years and will continue to support yellowcard. Thanks, Peter"
According to Wikipedia this isn't the first time that Pete has decided to pursue other endeavors. Here is a brief overview of his career with Yellowcard: " In 2002, Yellowcard's first bass player, Warren Cooke, left the band due to personal reasons. The band then asked an old friend, Pete Mosely from Inspection 12, to play bass for them.
During the recording of Ocean Avenue, Pete left, citing personal problems. The band began the search again for a new bass player and found Alex Lewis. In the middle of the band's tour in support of Ocean Avenue, Pete Mosely returned from his semi-retirement and asked if he could rejoin. Because Mosely had been an integral part of the writing for Ocean Avenue and had been friends with most of the band's members since high school, Lewis was asked to leave and Mosely was reinstated as the bass player."
