This song went through more changes than any other song we've ever written. Initially I had a basic melody for the chorus, but it took a long time before we got the melody right. When we finally got the song right and started playing it out, we knew it was good, but we were blown away by the responses from our fans.
People started coming up to me and giving me their own interpretations of the song that I had never even thought about. When that starts happening as an artist, you really know that you've created something special, something that really moved people, and that is the most rewarding part of this whole process. Also, the fact that it was the first song that people started singing along to at our concerts was pretty cool!
