The rehab filed suit in Orange County Superior Court on March 1st. In the lawsuit they claim that Love only paid an initial $10,000 but still owes over $181,000. "Although demanded multiple times by plaintiff, orally and in writing, none of the balance stated has been paid," the lawsuit said.
Gigwise reports: Whilst Beau Monde cited client confidentiality in refusing to comment on the case filed in Orange County Superior Court, a representative for Love said this matter is in the process of being resolved," claiming there was simply a conflict over the size of the bill.
Rant: We don't usually stick up for Courtney here in the Day in Rock but anyone not on serious drugs would have a problem with a $180K rehab bill. Did they toss out the 12 Steps (which you can get for free) for the empty pocket method? (After paying them off you won't have enough money for drugs.) That price is outrageous. The California government is probably too busy banning everything (including plastic bags) to take a look at something like this but they should take a break from dreaming up transgender bathroom laws to find out why this rehab is charging so much. We were able to find a little info about this "program," here is what they have to say: "The Beau Monde Transformational Recovery approach is based on the belief and research that recovery from burnout, addictions, substance abuse, eating disorders, emotional disorders and other life challenges must be looked at from a deeply personal, whole-person, multi-dimension perspective in order to sustain long-lasting recovery." Does the Transformational aspect transform you from rich to poor? They are licensed by the state of California but not accredited. If you want accredited, you need to fork out a million bucks for another facility. But if you have the bucks they have "special track" treatments for gay and lesbian and Native Americans. Whether they consider those two things disorders we were not able to discern from the promo webpage.
