Last Of The Breed is a two-disc, 22-song collection of newly recorded versions of country classics by three of the genres most important and influential artists.
Last Of The Breed was recorded in Nashville and produced by the extraordinary Fred Foster, who also produced Nelsons 2006 Grammy nominated You Dont Know Me: The Songs Of Cindy Walker. Some of Nashvilles finest were brought in for these sessions including steel guitar legend Buddy Emmons and renowned fiddler Johnny Gimble. Beautiful backing vocals were provided by The Jordanaires.
In March, Merle, Ray and Willie will head out on a tour in support of Last Of The Breed, with the acclaimed Asleep At The Wheel as their backing band. The tour will include stops in New York, Nashville, Las Vegas, Detroit and Colorado Springs.
