The Swear Recruit Fugazi Producer

(PR) This June, Atlanta's The Swear will record with legendary producer Ted Niceley. Ted's work with Fugazi rocketed him to prominence in the late '80s/early '90s and helped launch the alternative rock revolution as well as lay the groundwork for today's emo/hardcore scene. His status as a seminal figure was solidified with productions for artists such as Jawbox, Shudder to Think and Quicksand. His production of the Future Kings of Spain won the 2004 Meteor Prize. Ted has also produced Girls Against Boys, Sparklehorse, Tracy Bonham, Frente!, Dead Milkmen and Tripping Daisy. These new recordings will be a part of The Swear's second album, set for release in fall 2007. The band has already tracked three songs for the record with producer Jeff Tomei (Smashing Pumpkins, Jerry Cantrell).

The album will be mixed by Girls Against Boys' Eli Janney, known for his recent work on albums by Garbage and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!. Listen online at http://www.myspace.com/theswear. Preview tracks from the Niceley recordings will be available in July. - Click here for the Full Story
