(PR) Through its EV Classics division, Eagle Rock Entertainment will release Tina Turner Rio 88 on DVD June 26. This spectacular fusion of RhythmnBlues and RocknRoll is performed in front of a euphoric crowd in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Turner, in the midst of her celebrated late-80s renaissance, leads her big-band through a career-length assortment of her greatest musical accomplishments. Still touring in support of her 1986 Break Every Rule album, Tina proves herself to be an action-packed entertainerdancing, singing and captivating the crowd during the course of this 74-minute, 13-song concert.

Born Anna Mae Bullock in 1939 Nutbush Tennessee, this eight-time Grammy winner has been singing professionally for 47 years. As the jewel of The Ike & Tina Turner Revue for most of the 60s and 70s, she perfected her unique stageshow, quitting the band in 1976. After languishing in obscurity for two years until her 1978 divorce from Ike, Turner made one of the most miraculous comebacks in show business history when a stunning series of albumsstarting with 1984s Private Dancer and on through Break Every Rule and Foreign Affairs (1989)made her into one of the biggest female recording artists in history, and a hero to women around the world for her personal story of survival. The 90s saw her auto-biography, I, Tina, made into a major motion picture, Whats Love Got To Do With It.
