(PR) Elvis Costello's Pop And Classical Sides Showcased On Two Rhino DVDs In 1993 legendary tunesmith Elvis Costello composed, performed and produced THE JULIET LETTERS with the renowned classical Brodsky Quartet. Calling it a "song sequence for string quartet and voice," this unique project was inspired by a collection of letters written by an Italian literature professor who answered missives addressed to Shakespeare's Juliet. Fusing pop sensibilities and chamber music, the collection gave new meaning to "alternative music." Available for the first time ever on DVD, Rhino Entertainment will release THE JULIET LETTERS on May 22 for a suggested list price of $14.99.

THE JULIET LETTERS contains more than 50 minutes of music in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and PCM Stereo and was filmed by noted director Philip King. The DVD features Costello and the Brodsky Quartet -- Michael Thomas,
Ian Belton, Paul Cassidy and Jacqueline Thomas -- filmed at Ardmore Studios in Ireland by Philip King, the award winning Irish producer/director whose credits include work with U2, Sinead O' Connor and Daniel Lanois (Grammy Nominated "Rocky World").

The DVD presents 13 performances including the Costello-composed tracks "Deliver Us," "For Other Eyes," "Dear Sweet Filthy World," "I Thought I'd Write To Juliet," "The First To Leave" "Swine," "The Birds Will Still Be Singing" and "Why?" with numerous lyrical collaborations between Costello and the quartet, the DVD also features a trio of songs featuring music written by Thomas -- "Jacksons, Monk and Rowe," "Last Post" and "Who Do You Think You Are?"

LIVE: A CASE FOR SONG filmed at the BBC in London, features Elvis Costello along with the Attractions, the Brodsky Quartet and the White City Septet. LIVE: A CASE FOR SONG is finally being released for the first time ever on DVD and now features Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, plus 6 additional performances which were never available on the original VHS release. Rhino Entertainment will release LIVE: A CASE FOR SONG June 26 for a suggested list price of $14.99.
