Dylan just wrapped up his Australia and New Zealand tour last night and is heading to Texas for the Austin City Limits festival September 16. From there he'll head to Nashville for two concerts on the 19th and 20th with Amos Lee providing support. Then the East Coast run with Elvis Costello will begin two days later in Duluth Georgia and run through Rocktober 9th when it concludes in Rochester, New York.
Dylan is also offering his fans VIP packages for the tour. They're available through the "Hot Seats" links on the tour page of his official website and include one premium ticket, an exclusive Bob Dylan Tour gift item and a collectible laminate (not a real backstage pass). And it looks like, unlike some other recent VIP ticket package offerings, these won't break the bank. For example, the Albany, NY Hot Seats package is available for $175.00 each. Not cheap, but not a total rip off either like some bands are charging. (hint: halfway there, living off their hair).
It'll be a good time to tour for the music legend. Last week we told you about the career-spanning, three-CD retrospective of Bob Dylan's music, DYLAN, which will be released worldwide on October 1st by Columbia Records.
