Vespers is hushed and intimate, laced with lo fi whispers and the protection of light sleep. Instrumentation and arrangements are sparse, yet the songwriting and performances are rich with thoughtful restlessness. Vespers was birthed by a culture of the bedroom, a culture rooted in introversion, urgency, and a humble appreciation of the sublime.
Vespers was self-recorded and mixed in their Portland home using primarily acoustic guitar and a collection of old Casio keyboards. Tone, more than any particular fidelity or quest for clever arrangements, serves as the focal point of Nire's music.
