The Hives Plot Black and White Album

. (punkbands) The Hives is presently recording its next project, "The Black and White Album," in Oxford, Miss., with producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello). No release date has been announced for the follow-up to 2004's "Tyrannosaurus Hives," which has sold 178,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"This new album has been recorded all over the world because we thought it was time to have other people involved besides ourselves and our closest friends," frontman Howlin' Pelle Almvquist says.

The Hives have also worked with Pharrell Williams in Miami, Jacknife Lee in London and in Sweden with Bob Hund member Tomas Oberg.
