"This guy, out of nowhere, just walked up and said, 'Give me the camera,' " Volpe told Chicago Daily Southtown. Volpe told the man that he would give him the tape but not his $600 camera and the man responded, "It's too late for that now" and put Volpe in a headlock while Volpe's girlfriend grabbed the camcorder. She ran away when the man dropped Volpe and looked at her.
Volpe spent five hours in the emergency room of Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment of neck and back injuries. The suspect, known only by the nickname Jimbo, has no affiliate with Ted Nugent, and now faces likely charges for battery as well as legal action from Volpe.
"Our investigation has led us to believe there probably will be an arrest here," Chicago Ridge Police Chief Tim Baldermann said.
