Isley was convicted last year for willful failure to file a tax return and five counts of tax evasion.
Isley's attorney tried to convince the judge during the sentencing hearing to give the singer probation because of Isley's poor health due to a recent battle with kidney cancer and a stroke. U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson reportedly instead followed federal sentencing guidelines when handing down the sentence and there is speculation that Isley will be sent to a prison hospital facility.
