Ginger and company will be making the long trek from the UK to promote his new solo album Valor Del Corazn, which was recently released by Ginger's own label, Round Records.
We had the chance to speak with Ginger a little bit about the band and the upcoming show. "The band is my new dream solo project," Ginger told antiMusic via email. "My favourite players all on one stage. Jase Edwards (ex-Wolfsbane) who mixed and mastered my new solo album, is on guitar and harmony vocals, Jon Poole (SilverGinger 5, The Wildhearts, Cardiacs) is on bass and harmony vocals, Steve Spring (The Mission) is on drums, although we hope to feature Texan boy Joel Loper, who played drums on the album, we have female backing singers, percussion and piano/keyboards to make the sound even more huge."
Ginger looks forward to returning to New York City, "I love NYC. There's even a song on the new album, 'Mother City', originally written for a Village Voice charity record for 9/11, all about my love for this magnificent city," Ginger said.
"This is as excited as I could possibly get with my trousers on." Tickets for the show just went on sale this week at the official Don Hill's website (www.donhills.com) and the show is expected to sell out quickly. In an online posting there was a mention of a possible second show on April 5th, but that has not been confirmed at press time.
You can hear selected tracks from Valor Del Corazn on Ginger's Myspace page. And UK fans can details about a ton of shows happening later this month.
