The OC band, who's song "Chewbacca" was featured in the film "Clerks," claims they own the rights to the name they have used for 20 years. "You can't just waltz up and use our name," Supernova drummer Dave Collins told MTV. "We're willing to fight for our name, our band. We have trademark rights to the name and we can prove those rights."
The band has reportedly sent CBS a cease-and-desist letter as they don't want their name associated with a bunch of "washed-up metalheads", but their attorney says that the disput haven't gotten that serious yet. [see the full story link for MTV's full article about this legal dustup.]
