(PR) Epic Records and Mark Burnett Productions have re-teamed for "Rock Star: Supernova," the highly anticipated second season of the hit CBS reality series. The ambitious show, executive-produced by Mark Burnett, follows SUPERNOVA, an all-star band featuring famed Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke, and former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted on their quest to find a lead singer. Supernova's Epic debut, tentatively scheduled for a fall release, will feature the winner of the competition. The highly anticipated album will be produced by Butch Walker (Avril Lavigne, Bowling For Soup, Pink).

After an exhaustive search for contestants that spanned 25,000 entrants, 22 cities and 6 continents, "Rock Star: Supernova" will debut on CBS Wednesday, July 5th at 8PM EST with 15 rock vocalists vying for the gig of a lifetime. The 13 weeks that follow will see Lee, Clarke, Newsted and special guests assessing the candidates in everything from songwriting to live performance. The winner will record an album with the group and embark on a worldwide tour.

"Rock Star: Supernova" will air twice a week, with the two-hour finale scheduled for Wednesday, September 27th.
