Allison and Catherine Pierce are two sisters born and bred in the deepest of southern places, the beautiful, yet tragic, state of Alabama. Now calling New York City their home, they arrived here, via gypsy kidnappings, bohemian home schooling, and the strictest of Russian and French ballet masters. A concoction that led them to Williamsburg, to produce their new album with Roger Greenawalt (Ben Kweller, Adam Green)
This album is The Pierces debut for New Yorks Lizard King Records (the label that signed the Killers in the UK and went on to release the multi-platinum Hot Fuss album there). Recent live reviews of The Pierces shows in the UK while touring with Albert Hammond Jr. unanimously testify to the strength of their vocals and harmonies. The collection of songs is quite eclectic, and can be described as a fever-induced gypsy sound which can only be special brewed in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
