Female dominance reigns supreme as the 2005 Veruca Salt/Dig Jelly tour features the established and revered talent of Veruca Salt front woman Louise Post and the breakthrough talent of Dig Jelly's front woman Rayko, both of whom are multi-talented singers, songwriters and guitarists. For fans of high-energy, guitar-driven rock shows, the Veruca Salt/Dig Jelly pairing will surely prove, if not solidify, that women can and will rock as hard, if not harder, then the guys. The Veruca Salt/Dig Jelly tour will hit major markets in Texas, Florida, Georgia, The Mid-Atlantic States, New York, Massachusetts, the Midwest, the Rocky Mountain States and California.
Dig Jelly recently signed a three album recording contract with the Santa Monica-based Centerline Music and Entertainment and their first full-length CD on the CM&E label, "FOR YOUR INNER ANGRY CHILD," is scheduled to be released while the band is on tour with Veruca Salt, on November 8, 2005. International distribution will be handled by D1/Innovative Distribution Network, one of the leading distributors of independent labels in the U.S. Dig Jelly's new and existing music will also be distributed through iTunes and a multitude of other online music portals.
Rayko states, "Just when you thought, there's no way salt and jelly go together, well, it does, and it couldn't be anymore sweeter. It is an absolute honor to be selected to join Veruca Salt on their national tour. But, combined with our new recording contract and the national release of "FOR YOUR INNER ANGRY CHILD," which will happen during the tour, adjectives completely escape me in trying to express the band's gratitude for our good fortune. We're grateful for the support of our fans who, since Dig Jelly's inception, have elevated the band's profile to the point that we were discovered and signed by Centerline Music and Entertainment - the hardest working team of pro's in the music industry."
Howard Lipp, president of Centerline Music and Entertainment, says, "With Dig Jelly as part of the Centerline family, we all have great expectations for the future of the band and the label. It's an absolute joy and honor to work with someone as professional, business savvy and as hardworking as Dig Jelly's Rayko. She is a selfless self-promoter who will do whatever it takes to help the label help her promote her band and music. The professionalism of the planning of what will surely be one of, if not the most, highly anticipated and successful female-fronted rock tours of the year is due, in large part, to the efforts and Rayko and the other members of Dig Jelly. "
