The album, which will be the groups first official hits compilation is scheduled to be released January 24, 2006. Perry Farrell fansite aintnoright.com reported last month that the Best of album was slated for a September 27, 2005 release date but no details were given concerning the album and its tracklist. No apparent reason has been given for the reschuduled release date.
Janes Addiction split in 2004 for reasons unknown though it was stated in an online posting on Dave Navarros site that the causes for the breakup were similar to the ones that broke the band up the first time in the early nineties.
Former Janes Addiction members Stephen Perkins, Chris Chaney and Navarro are currently at work on the debut album from their new outfit The Panic Channel fronted by former Skycycle vocalist Steve Isaacs. Not to be outdone, former Janes vocalist Perry Farrell is working on the debut effort from his new band Satelite Party which features former Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. Both albums are expected to be out next year sometime.
