Though all the members of Dizmas are age 21 or younger, their acute awareness of the world, and their place in it, uniquely surpasses what might be expected from young, metal men. They have a made it their mission to worship through a genre of music not often united with personal faith, joining the likes of P.O.D. and Switchfoot, two other bands whose messages have struck a chord with mainstream audience.
Yet Dizmass sound is taken a step further in its rawness and passion, made clear on their debut album. There is a devout message behind every blaring note they play, even behind the name chosen for the group, the name many theologians and historians believe belonged to the good thief who defended Christ at the cross, as stated in the Bible.
Their first national release, produced by Brian Garcia (Our Lady Peace, Avril Lavigne, and Kings X), came together through Zach Zegans vocals backed by his brother, Josh Zegan, on vocals and guitar, Jon Howard on guitar, Nick Aranda on bass, and Clayton Hunt on drums. It evident in the electric flow of the thumping Revolution that starts off the journey On A Search For America, through to the rocking closing song Night Divine, that the group has formed a one of a kind chemistry these past seven years they have been together.
Each of the tracks, though able to stand alone in depth of sound and message, unite through a profound mixture of heavy beats and strong lyrics filled with such emotion that believers and non-believers alike cannot deny to feel.
Dizmas recently wrapped up a 25+ city "For Those About To Rock" tour, with fellow Christian hard music acts Pillar and Thousand Foot Krutch. The tour served as a precursor to On A Search In America, and for a taste one of the tracks, "Let This One Stay, is downloadable on PureVolume.com or MySpace.com.
Dizmass On A Search In America is available in stores nationwide.
