After being the first band to ever reach Gold status twice with their debut album and its re-release (Disclaimer I and II) along with the incredible success of the track "Broken" from The Punisher soundtrack, expectations are extremely high for the group on an industry level. But for the actual band members, having a new record out means they can do exactly what they set out to do--TOUR. After playing an average of 300 shows per year in support of their debut, and then having a few months in one place to write and record the songs for Karma and Effect, the band is ready to get out and play their new songs in full force.
Although Seether found their beginnings in South Africa with singer/guitarist Shaun Morgan and bassist Dale Stewart, they are no longer just a "South African band" due to the addition of drummer John Humphrey, from Oklahoma and Philly native, guitarist Pat Callahan. This will be the first album for Seether in which all four members have teamed up to write and record a full album together. Both Pat and John have toured with the group for the past two years and created a bond that has allowed for a natural and honest writing process for the tracks on Karma and Effect.
Seether's tour with Crossfade will kick off on June 2 in Norfolk, VA and end in Salt Lake City on September 11th. The band will play numerous Summer festivals along the way, including headlining the Mountain Dew Rock Stage on July 5th at the prestigious Milwaukee Summerfest. Tour dates are below and additional dates will be announced shortly.
In addition to performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on May 24th, the band will take part in Xbox Live's Game with Fame the following day. Fans will have a chance to chat with the band and compete against them at Doom 3 over Xbox Live. Currently through the Karma and Effect e-card, fans have a chance to sign up to win a brand new Xbox, an Xbox Live Starter Kit and an Xbox game and ten runner-ups will receive an Xbox Live Starter Kit, an Xbox game, and a copy of Karma and Effect.
