Concerts in Los Angeles, St. Louis, Kansas City, the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area, San Diego, Phoenix and many more cities have been added. The tour kicks off on June 7 in Fort Meyers, FL with some forty dates stretching into late summer. With some of these concerts still three months away, ticket sales are making this one of the summer's hottest tours. Two shows in Berkeley set for late August sold out 18,000 tickets in less than six hours; Boston's Tweeter Center went clean in one day with more than 19,000 tickets sold, and the second show has already sold 11,000 tickets; Philadelphia is also clean with 24,000 tickets sold; 13,000 gone in Detroit, more than 22,000 for the Milwaukee date have been sold, and Chicago has sold 18,000. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, who have not released a new album since "The Last DJ" in 2002, are well on their way to selling some half-million tickets over the summer.
