American Idol Finalist Drops Out

(antiMUSIC) American Idol contestant Mario Vazquez quit the television show on Sunday, just a few days after making the final 12.  Producers will replace Vazquez with Nikko Smith, who was voted out of the competition last Wednesday. 

Vazquez, who many felt had a good chance of winning the competition, cited personal reasons for leaving the show. 

Smith, son of baseball star Ozzie Smith, will return to the show this Tuesday when the first round of the official competition between the final 12 takes place.
