"Junkie Faithful" is being released on Rock Ridge Music with national distribution via ADA. The album features twelve outstanding tracks with Mr. Reilly and Company at their best: quirky, lyrically deep, rootsy yet punky, sharp, and witty. A bit of a departure for the band sonically, the album exudes melancholy at times and is clearly the IRA's most unique, engaging, and compelling album to date. With most of the songs written during the band's extensive touring schedule for "Sparkle In The Finish," the album was recorded at Diamond City Studios in Libertyville, IL, and produced by Ed Tinley with additional production by Phil Karnatz. The album reflects the amount of touring the band did together in its cohesiveness and solidity and shines because of it. The IRA, which is led by Ike Reilly, is rounded out by Reilly's long-time bandmates Dave Cottini, drums; Tommy O'Donnell, bass; Phil Karnatz, guitar; and Ed Tinley on piano and guitar.
The press was especially kind to the IRA on last year's "Sparkle In The Finish." The NY Times called it "an incendiary collection;" the Boston Herald christened it "fierce, funny and furiously rocking;" the Philadelphia Inquirer dubbed it "astonishing;" the Cleveland Free Times said it was "keen, cutting, cleverly crafted." The Knoxville News-Sentinel gave it five out of five stars and trumpeted: "Every once in a while, an album comes out of nowhere from someone you've never heard of and becomes your favorite album of the year. 'Sparkle in the Finish,' the second disc by Libertyville, Ill., native Ike Reilly is exactly that kind of record. Reilly's combination of power pop, Americana and even white-boy hipster rap is irresistible." Maxim, giving it four out of five stars, proclaimed it "underdog rock for proud underachievers."
On July 19th, Rock Ridge released a digital-only EP from the band entitled "Sparkle in the Finish: The B Sides." It is available everywhere digital tracks are sold in the U.S., including outlets like Napster, iTunes, MusicMatch, Real, etc.
